Drone attack on Crimea energy facilities causes power outages

ua.korrespondent.net (Ukrainian) —

A drone attack on energy facilities in occupied Crimea caused power outages and damage, according to Russian-installed authorities. Explosions were reported in Krasnoperekopsk, Simferopol, and the Saky district, leading to electricity supply disruptions. The occupying administration's Krymenergo stated that energy infrastructure was targeted by drones, leaving some settlements without power. Officials imposed consumption restrictions across the peninsula, attributing outages to repair work and network overload. Witnesses reported blackouts in Krasnoperekopsk around 6:00 AM, with intermittent supply in Simferopol and Saky district. A separate overnight strike in Krasnoperekopsk reportedly hit a site housing Russian military equipment, damaging nearby buses. This follows a recent attack on a substation in Nyzhnohirskyi. Since September 29, Crimea has faced rolling blackouts, with Sevastopol implementing a critical schedule of two hours of power followed by six hours without.
