Zelensky: Russia's winter strikes to target Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Lviv
President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia's winter strikes will target Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Lviv, aiming to isolate these cities from the rest of Ukraine. In a Financial Times interview, Zelensky stated Russia will also strike Ukrainian nuclear plants to disconnect them from the grid, pressuring Ukraine to accept terms by early 2027. Moscow hopes to trigger a new refugee wave to burden EU countries with rising anti-immigrant sentiment. The strikes target Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Lviv, a key logistics hub near Poland. Ukrainian intelligence shared these plans with European officials, and The New York Times reported Ukraine showed intercepted Russian plans to cut power, heating, and water in major cities.
