Kyiv's Defense Council to Meet Urgently Over Bridge Damage After Drone Strikes
Kyiv's Defense Council will hold an emergency meeting on the afternoon of October 2 to decide on traffic restrictions across the city's bridges following drone attacks. The Paton Bridge is open in both directions, but entry from the right bank is only possible from Mykola Mikhnovskyi Boulevard. The Southern Bridge sustained damage to its support pillar, guardrail, road surface, and protective concrete layer of the metro after multiple drone strikes, according to Kyiv City Military Administration spokesperson Kateryna Pop. Specialists are currently assessing the extent of the damage. The council will discuss the findings and determine traffic arrangements for the coming week, addressing new security challenges. The Paton Bridge remains congested but operational, with other access points blocked.
