Kyiv Faces Intense Russian Attacks as Winter Approaches
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Friday the Ukrainian capital is in a dramatic situation, facing intense Russian attacks targeting infrastructure, logistics, and energy. Russian air forces struck the South Bridge again Friday evening, a key crossing over the Dnieper River. The bridge was hit for the third time within hours, with attacks involving drones and rockets since Thursday. Traffic and metro service across the bridge are completely halted, as the structure also carries a metro line. Klitschko stated the enemy is "tearing Kyiv apart." The strikes mark a new phase, as Russia had not previously targeted bridges. Kyiv is entering its hardest period since the invasion began, with winter approaching. Attacks this week also hit offices, data centers, a school, and a hospital, while strikes on energy facilities left some districts without power and water.
