The animation, powered by the Apple A20 Pro chip driving both displays, makes the screen appear to expand as the phone opens. A Reddit user named moomanjohnny replicated this effect on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 by using hinge sensor data and a home screen screenshot to create a transition, but it is not system-wide. The limitation stems from Android's security architecture, as the necessary APIs for such animations are restricted to SystemUI, a privileged component that can layer over apps. No vendor has made these APIs available to third-party developers, preventing broader implementation.
