Apple unveils iPhone 18 lineup and first foldable Duo model
Apple unveiled its latest iPhone lineup on Wednesday, including a foldable model called Duo, marking the first major product launch under new CEO John Ternus. The Duo features a 7.6-inch display, the largest ever on an iPhone, and starts at $1,999. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, priced at $1,199 and $1,299, offer improved battery life, cameras, and performance, with preorders starting Sept. 12 and availability Sept. 18. The Duo, which supports Apple Pencil and split-screen multitasking, will ship Oct. 23, while Siri gains new AI capabilities focused on privacy. Apple enters the foldable market after rivals like Samsung and Google, with analysts noting the category remains a small niche. The iPhone 18 costs about $100 more than the iPhone 17 due to a memory chip shortage, and Ternus faces pressure to sustain Apple's success amid future shifts beyond smartphones.
