Apple A20 Pro powers iPhone 18 Pro with 2nm chip and 32-core Neural Engine
Apple has announced its new A20 Pro chipset, powering the iPhone 18 Pro series and the iPhone Duo foldable. The chip offers up to 40 percent faster GPU performance and double the AI processing power of its predecessor, the A19 Pro. Built on TSMC's 2-nanometre process, the A20 Pro features a six-core CPU, a seven-core GPU, and a dual 16-core Neural Engine with 32 total cores. It also provides 50 percent more memory bandwidth and supports advanced on-device AI, gaming, and Apple Intelligence features. The chip uses custom packaging with side-by-side silicon and memory, enabling a larger vapour chamber for improved sustained performance. It works with Apple's new N1 wireless chip and C2 cellular modem, supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.
