iPhone 18 Pro hands-on: Camera upgrades lead the way
Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, unveiled at the "Surprise and Shine" event, feature major camera upgrades, including a new variable aperture on the main wide-angle lens, marking a significant internal boost despite unchanged physical dimensions. The variable aperture offers four stops from f/1.48 to f/4.0, providing adjustable background blur and up to 50% better low-light performance than the iPhone 17 Pro. Other improvements include a new A20 Pro processor, faster charging, longer battery life, and a C2 modem with mmWave support. The phones come in four colors: Glacier, burgundy, silver, and black. The silver model features matching glass for a more seamless look, while the black is a true black. Hands-on impressions highlight the camera's meaningful bokeh difference, with further testing needed for features like 4K timelapses and audio mixing.
