Apple launches iPhone Duo, its first foldable, priced at €2,369

Apple introduced its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, priced at over 2,000 euros, during a keynote led by new CEO John Ternus. The device, which opens like a book, is central to the company's strategy to redefine the foldable phone experience. The iPhone Duo features a 5.4-inch external screen and a 7.6-inch internal display, the largest ever on an iPhone, with a nanotexture finish to reduce the visible crease. It will ship from October 23, priced at 2,369 euros, alongside the more expensive iPhone 18 Pro models. The new iOS 27 supports multitasking on the larger screen. The launch comes as the global smartphone market is projected to decline in units but grow in revenue, driven by higher prices and AI-related component costs. Apple is betting on premium products to offset this trend, with the base iPhone 18 model delayed to 2027.
