Apple's newly announced iPhone Duo foldable has already inspired a third-party recreation of its signature opening animation on Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8, though the effect is limited to a demo. The animation, shared by user moomanjohnny on Reddit, uses hinge sensor data and a home screen screenshot to fade the outer display and expand the image on the inner screen. This approach is not integrated into Samsung's launcher due to Android security restrictions. System-level permissions for such transitions are reserved for SystemUI, as vendors have not exposed these APIs to third-party apps. The recreation thus remains a proof-of-concept rather than a system-wide feature.
