Apple unveils iPhone 18 Pro with adjustable camera aperture and longer battery life

Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max at its event, featuring a physically adjustable camera aperture, a new A20 Pro chip, and significantly improved battery life. The new phones start at $1,200 in the US and will be available September 18. The A20 Pro chip uses 2-nanometer technology with a dual Neural Engine that is twice as fast, a 20% faster CPU, and a 40% faster GPU. The Pro camera system includes a mechanical aperture blade, manual controls, and an Apple Reference Image authentication system to verify photo authenticity. The iPhone 18 Pro offers 36 hours of battery life, while the Pro Max delivers 45 hours, with fast charging providing six hours of video playback from a five-minute charge. The event also unveiled AirPods 5 with 50% better noise cancellation, available in two versions starting September 18.
