Apple launches foldable iPhone and Watch 12, but EU misses AI Siri
Apple launched its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, priced from 2,339 euros, alongside the new Apple Watch Series 12, while its AI-enhanced Siri will not launch in the EU due to regulatory concerns. The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch internal screen and a 5.4-inch external display, replacing Face ID with Touch ID. Pre-orders open October 16, with France among 70 launch markets on October 23. The Watch Series 12 adds a redesigned heart sensor and new health metrics. Apple's new Siri, powered by AI, is withheld from the EU due to Digital Markets Act interoperability rules. The company also introduced "Apple Reference Image" to certify photo authenticity, while competitor Samsung mocked the foldable's late arrival.
