Developer recreates iPhone Duo's folding animation on Galaxy Z Fold 8

A developer has recreated the iPhone Duo's folding animation on a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, using the device's hinge sensor to trigger a wallpaper transition across both screens. The animation mimics Apple's effect where the wallpaper appears to move from the cover screen to the inner display when folding, achieved by making half the screen semi-transparent. The developer notes it works best when viewed directly from the front, as the illusion breaks at wider angles. The demo currently only uses wallpaper screenshots and isn't integrated at the system level, requiring Samsung to implement it for full app support. The iPhone Duo, priced from 2,339 euros, is available for pre-order starting October 16.
