iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max each get one exclusive feature

Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which are largely identical but each has one exclusive advantage: the Pro features Apple's new C2 cellular modem, while the Pro Max offers significantly larger battery life gains. The C2 modem, available in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo but not the Pro Max, provides exclusive benefits over the Qualcomm modem in the Pro Max, despite comparable specs like mmWave support. Battery life for video playback reaches up to 36 hours on the Pro and 45 hours on the Pro Max, compared to 33 and 39 hours on last year's models, respectively. The Pro Max gains six hours of video playback versus three hours for the Pro, widening its usual battery advantage. Apple's transition to in-house modems began in early 2025 with the C1, followed by the C1X in the iPhone Air last fall.
