Samsung mocks Apple's first foldable iPhone with 'reheating our leftovers' jab
Apple launched its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, on September 9, and Samsung immediately mocked the move on social media with a "reheating our leftovers" post. The device starts at ₹2,99,900 in India, with pre-orders from October 16 and availability from October 23. Samsung, which has sold foldables since 2019, used the hashtag #ItsTimeToSwitch to highlight its head start with the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip lines. Apple's iPhone Duo features a display 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max and comes in Star White and Night Sky colors. The launch, led by new CEO John Ternus, also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple Watch Series 12, and AirPods 5. Apple's entry could expand the foldable market, intensifying competition with Samsung's established category experience.
