Apple unveils iPhone Duo foldable, iPhone 18 Pro, AirPods 5 at Surprise and Shine event

Apple unveiled its first foldable, the iPhone Duo, at its Surprise and Shine event on September 9, priced at Rs 2,99,900 in India. The event also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro with a variable aperture camera, the Apple Watch Series 12, and AirPods 5 with noise cancellation. The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch inner display and folds to a passport-sized device, with pre-orders starting October 16. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900, while the Apple Watch Series 12 costs Rs 56,900. John Ternus took over from Tim Cook as the event's host, emphasizing AI capabilities across new devices. Apple also raised prices on older iPhone models, with the iPhone 17 now costing Rs 99,900. No standard iPhone 18 was released this year, with reports suggesting a spring 2027 launch for the rest of the lineup. The AirPods 5 start at Rs 14,900, and iOS 27 arrives September 14.
