Siri AI arrives with iPhone 18 Pro, French support in October

Apple unveiled Siri AI, a major overhaul of its assistant, as the centerpiece of the iPhone 18 Pro launch, though the feature remains unavailable in France for now. The new assistant is positioned as the device's core purpose. Siri AI integrates with Mail, Messages, Photos, and third-party apps, handling tasks like creating events from photos or sending WhatsApp messages. It relies on Google's Gemini model in Apple's Private Cloud Compute, with Apple reportedly paying about $1 billion annually. The assistant launches in English beta this month, with French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese following in October. However, no release date exists for EU countries due to the Digital Markets Act, though Mac and Vision Pro versions will be available in Europe.
