iPhone Duo hands-on: Apple's first foldable feels solid, hides its crease

Apple has unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, which impressed during initial hands-on testing at Apple Park, particularly with its solid titanium build, reliable hinge, and a display crease that is nearly invisible during normal use. The device features a 7.6-inch internal display that opens to a thickness of just 5.2 millimeters, thinner than the iPhone Air, and a 5.4-inch external screen when closed. The hinge offers progressive resistance and a satisfying closing sound, while a software animation smoothly transitions content between screens. The Duo supports dual-app multitasking, has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, and replaces Face ID with Touch ID. Priced from 2,369 euros in Italy with shipments starting October 23, the Duo compromises on camera capabilities by lacking a dedicated telephoto lens, offering only 2x optical zoom compared to the 8x on Pro models. The device weighs 254 grams and measures 11.3 millimeters when closed, thicker than traditional iPhones.
