Apple launched its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, at a "Surprise and Shine" event, positioning it as a direct competitor to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in the premium segment. It runs iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence and offers up to 2TB storage. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra counters with an 8-inch AMOLED internal display, a 6.5-inch cover screen, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and a triple rear camera system including a 200-megapixel primary lens. The iPhone Duo is thicker and heavier at 254g compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra's 215g. Samsung's device offers a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging, while Apple has not disclosed battery capacity.
