Apple raises iPhone prices up to 150 euros as AI chip shortage hits

businessinsider.de (German)

Apple has raised prices across its entire iPhone lineup, with most models now costing 150 euros more, driven by an AI-induced global shortage of memory chips. The new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max start 150 euros higher than previous Pro models, while older generations from the iPhone 16 upward saw increases of at least 100 euros. The new foldable iPhone Duo starts at 2,299 euros, with the top 2TB version reaching 3,799 euros. Apple CEO Tim Cook called the memory chip price surge a "hundred-year flood," noting prior iPad and Mac price hikes. Samsung and Google have also raised smartphone prices due to the same shortage, with Google adding 100 euros to its Pixel 11.
