Apple unveils iPhone Duo, iPhone 18, and new wearables at launch event
Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, unveiled the next generation of iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods during Wednesday's Surprise and Shine event, including the company's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, which starts at $1,999. The iPhone Duo expands from 5.4 inches to 7.6 inches, with pre-orders beginning October 16. Apple also introduced the iPhone 18, starting at $1,199, with improved cameras and performance, alongside new Apple Watch models featuring advanced heart-rate tracking and a Health Age feature. Apple raised iPhone prices by $100 due to a memory shortage, and its stock fell about 2% during the event before recovering. The company also announced Siri AI's beta rollout on September 14 and new AirPods 5 with enhanced noise cancellation.
