Apple unveils foldable iPhone Duo and new iPhone 18 Pro models
Apple officially entered the foldable phone market on Wednesday, September 9, unveiling the iPhone Duo, its first foldable device, priced up to R$30,000 in Brazil. The device uses a book-style format, functioning as a traditional smartphone when closed and expanding to a tablet-like screen when opened. The iPhone Duo comes in white and blue, features Apple Pencil compatibility for the first time, and has an adapted system for multitasking across its larger display. Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, featuring the new A20 Pro chip, a 48-megapixel camera with variable aperture, a vapor chamber for heat dissipation, and a new bordeaux color option. Additional announcements included Siri AI with photo angle editing capabilities, AirPods 5 with improved noise cancellation and real-time translation, and Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 with new health sensors and readiness features.
