Apple unveils iPhone Duo, its first foldable, at €2,369 under new CEO Ternus
Apple introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, priced at €2,369, during a keynote led by new CEO John Ternus, who succeeded Tim Cook on September 1st. The device is positioned as the company's most expensive iPhone ever. The Duo opens like a book, featuring a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal screen, the largest ever on an iPhone, with a nanotexture finish to minimize the crease. It runs on iOS 27 and the A20 Pro processor, with app support from Netflix, Zoom, and Slack, while Apple Pencil compatibility arrives later. The launch comes as the global smartphone market is projected to decline 16.7% in units during 2026, though revenue is expected to grow. Apple also unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, priced from €1,489 and €1,639, with a new 48-megapixel camera featuring variable aperture, while the base iPhone 18 was delayed to early 2027.
