Apple unveils foldable iPhone Duo in first launch under new CEO
Apple's new CEO John Ternus unveiled the latest iPhone lineup on Wednesday, including a foldable model called Duo, marking his first major product launch since taking over from Tim Cook on Sept. 1. The Duo opens to a 7.6-inch display, 80% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro, and supports the Apple Pencil for the first time on a phone. It also allows split-screen multitasking and starts at $1,999, with preorders beginning Sept. 12 and availability on Oct. 23. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max start at $1,199 and $1,299, featuring improved batteries, cameras, and AI-enhanced Siri capabilities. Apple faces competition from Samsung, Motorola, and Google in foldables, while the iPhone 18 costs about $100 more than its predecessor due to a memory chip shortage.
