Ukraine's 1,000-drone barrage sets St Petersburg oil terminal ablaze
Ukraine launched more than 1,000 drones across Russia on Sunday, setting an oil export terminal ablaze in St. Petersburg and killing one person, in one of Kyiv's largest aerial bombardments of the war. The attack sparked fires at the Petersburg Oil Terminal and Ruchi oil depot, wounding five others, while also targeting a logistics center and data center. Russia's Defense Ministry said it destroyed 1,015 drones over 15 regions, Crimea, and the Black Sea. The strikes come amid tensions with Washington, as President Donald Trump had announced an "energy ceasefire" on Oct. 11. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia attacked Ukrainian energy sites 76 times in the week since, accusing Moscow of defying the agreement.
