Drone strike sparks fire at Volyn enterprise, prompting evacuation call

news.liga.net (Ukrainian) —

Russian drones attacked an industrial enterprise in the urban-type settlement of Manevychi in Volyn Oblast, causing a large fire and heavy smoke, prompting local authorities to urge residents of the Trydtsyatka neighborhood to evacuate. No casualties have been reported. The fire engulfed the enterprise's warehouse and production facilities. Acting head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration Roman Romaniuk advised residents to stay indoors, close windows and doors, and avoid going outside. Manevychi community head Oleksandr Havryliuk called on Trydtsyatka residents to temporarily relocate to friends' homes elsewhere in the settlement. The attack follows a drone strike in Lutsk on October 14 that killed at least six people. Manevychi has previously faced drone threats, including a possible ammonia leak warning on October 16. The settlement hosts woodworking, forestry, and peat processing industries.
