Ukrainian drone strikes shut Moscow airports overnight, canceling over 160 flights

euronews.com —

Ukrainian drones forced the closure of all four Moscow airports overnight, suspending operations for up to seven hours and cancelling more than 160 flights. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported 94 drones shot down approaching the capital. Pulkovo airport in St Petersburg also halted operations twice during the night, with four drones destroyed over the Leningrad region. Russian investigative outlet Agentstvo reported Moscow's airports were closed for 101 hours in October's first 14 days, more than double September's total. The closures follow a Tuesday drone operation of nearly 500 drones, and reports that Putin's aircraft was diverted from Moscow on 9 October due to an attack. Ukraine has not confirmed an organised campaign, while President Trump criticised Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries.
