Ukraine drone attack on Saint Petersburg sets oil terminal ablaze
Ukraine launched a drone attack on Saint Petersburg, causing a fire at an oil terminal and targeting a data center on the city's outskirts, local authorities and a company reported on Sunday. Russian air defense shot down 126 drones over the Leningrad region overnight, Governor Alexander Drozdenko said on Telegram. City Governor Alexander Beglov reported fires at civilian infrastructure in three districts and at the oil terminal, with no casualties, while Pulkovo airport restricted operations as a precaution. The Russian social network VK confirmed a drone strike on a data center in the region, stating services continued normally. Saint Petersburg hosts key oil infrastructure frequently targeted by Ukraine in retaliation for Russian strikes, following a previous attack in June and recent hits on Yandex data centers since October.
