Russian strike destroys critical infrastructure in Vinnytsia region

ua.korrespondent.net (Ukrainian) —

Russian forces destroyed critical infrastructure in the Vinnytsia region, causing emergency power outages across the area, according to regional head Natalia Zabolotna. She reported the damage occurred during an overnight air attack on Sunday, October 18. Energy workers are already working to restore electricity supply, but the situation with power will remain unstable in the near term. Critical infrastructure is being switched to backup power sources where needed, and residents are urged to avoid turning on all electrical appliances simultaneously to prevent network overload. The Vinnytsia region experienced one of the most massive attacks since the full-scale Russian invasion on Saturday, damaging civilian and critical infrastructure and injuring six people. The regional capital also suffered a blackout, leaving it without water and power, with trams and trolleybuses not operating.
