Russia Strikes 15 Ukrainian Power Facilities in Major Attack
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia launched one of the largest attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, striking over 15 key power generation and transmission facilities across multiple regions. The most severe damage was recorded in Lutsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Shepetivka, Slavuta, and Netishyn, with additional strikes on energy systems in Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Dnipro regions. Zelensky stated that over 320 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles were used overnight, and restoration work is ongoing. Zelensky accused Russia of attempting to cause a blackout before winter and called for increased international pressure, criticizing the US for ignoring the Graham law that would have imposed effective sanctions on Russia. He noted that new support packages from European partners are being prepared.
