Ukraine drone attack on St. Petersburg region sets oil terminal ablaze
Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on the St. Petersburg region, setting an oil terminal ablaze and striking a data center, according to Russian officials. The attack caused power outages and disrupted airport operations. Russian authorities reported shooting down 126 drones, with debris falling on residential buildings, cars, and power lines. The fire at the oil terminal, previously hit in June, led to restricted operations at Pulkovo Airport. The data center belongs to VK, a major Russian internet company. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently declared the US-brokered pause on energy infrastructure strikes "void" and resumed attacks. Kyiv has repeatedly targeted Russian infrastructure far from the front lines to hinder Moscow's war effort, which has continued for over four and a half years.
