US intelligence cutoff would be 'nail in coffin' for Trump administration, says Ukrainian commander
Ukrainian journalist and drone company commander Yuri Butusov stated that a potential US halt of intelligence sharing with Ukraine would be a "nail in the coffin" for the Trump administration, though he acknowledged such a loss would be painful but not decisive for Ukraine's military resistance. Butusov confirmed Ukrainian forces noticed Starlink terminal slowdowns on October 14, which he believes were demonstrative political actions rather than technical issues. He emphasized Ukraine's heavy dependence on US intelligence, particularly for long-range strikes, but noted European partners and Ukrainian services provide alternatives. He argued Trump's peace plan lacks guarantees, control mechanisms, and enforcement provisions, making it unrealistic. Butusov stressed that Russia retains battlefield initiative on most front sections and can sustain its war effort for years. He advocated for stabilizing the front through active defense, citing the 3rd Army Corps' successful operation on 130 kilometers as a model. He also criticized the lack of systemic military management changes, noting his unit received expanded responsibility without additional resources.
