Three Turkey-to-Moscow flights diverted to Istanbul after airspace restrictions

news.mail.ru (Russian) —

Three flights from Turkish cities to Moscow were diverted and landed at Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen airport on October 18, according to TASS, citing an aviation dispatch source. The aircraft, traveling to Moscow's Vnukovo airport from Antalya, Istanbul, and Izmir, turned back while over Poland and Lithuania due to flight safety restrictions at Vnukovo. The source said it is unclear when they might resume their journey to Russia. Russian aviation authorities had earlier announced temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures at Moscow's Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports to ensure flight safety.
