Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia injures five, including a child
Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia overnight on October 17, injuring five civilians, including a child, according to the regional military administration. The attack targeted an open area amid residential buildings. A 22-year-old woman was hospitalized with an eye injury, while a 54-year-old man received on-site medical care; both are in light condition. The child's status was not disclosed. Apartment buildings were seriously damaged, and cars caught fire at the strike site. A local resident said she sheltered in a hallway during the blast, noting the family has replaced windows several times over two years due to repeated strikes. On the same day, Russia also hit Kherson's Korabelny district, killing an ambulance driver, and struck Kharkiv on October 16, injuring nine people.
