Pulkovo adjusts flights after overnight airspace restrictions
St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport adjusted its flight schedule on October 17 due to overnight airspace restrictions that temporarily halted arrivals and departures. The measures were introduced to ensure flight safety, and the airport is now operating normally. The restrictions followed a drone attack on the Leningrad region, during which two drones were shot down with no casualties or damage. As a result, 21 departures were delayed, 19 canceled, and 17 arrivals canceled, mostly from Moscow. Passengers were advised to monitor flight status. Similar restrictions were imposed on Moscow's aviation hub earlier, with Pulkovo serving as a backup airport. Finland also limited flights over the eastern Gulf of Finland, with restrictions expected to last until approximately 09:00 Moscow time.
