Ukraine's mass drone attack forces temporary closure of all Moscow airports
Ukraine launched a large-scale drone attack on Moscow, temporarily closing all airports in the Russian capital. The attack caused delays or cancellations for approximately 200 civilian flights. The operation, reportedly named "M&Ms," may intensify, with plans to use AI-equipped small drones to evade air defenses and directly target airport facilities. Separately, Reuters reported Russia is nearing completion of a new launch base for jet-powered drones near the Ukrainian border, capable of launching over 100 per day. Ukraine's interception capabilities are also under strain due to speed restrictions on Starlink-equipped drones, reportedly limited to around 70 km/h compared to Russian drones flying over 400 km/h, hindering its ability to shoot down incoming threats.
