Ukraine schedules power outages for October 17 after Russian strikes
Ukraine will again impose power outages on Saturday, October 17, from 06:00 to midnight, with capacity restriction schedules applied around the clock due to the aftermath of massive Russian attacks on energy facilities, Ukrenergo reported. Restrictions include round-the-clock capacity limits for industry and business in all regions, and hourly outage schedules for all consumer categories (ranging from 1 to 2.5 queues) in some areas. Ukrenergo urged citizens to monitor official regional operator announcements and consume electricity sparingly. The energy situation remains volatile, and residents are advised to follow updates from their local distribution operators. On October 16, emergency outages were introduced in Kyiv and parts of Kyiv region, while planned restrictions affected Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions, with Odesa and Lutsk also experiencing severe disruptions.
