Russian strikes kill two in Zaporizhzhia and Poltava

Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 180 drones, killing and injuring people in Zaporizhzhia and Poltava. Ukrainian air defense shot down 152 drones. In Zaporizhzhia, a missile strike on a residential building killed a 27-year-old woman and wounded two others, damaging two apartment blocks, 18 cars, and an educational facility. In Poltava, an attack damaged four private homes, killing one person and injuring four. A man in Sumy region died en route to a hospital from shelling; he was to turn 31 the next day. The attacks occurred overnight into October 18.
