Russian Ballistic Missiles Hit Kryvyi Rih and Zaporizhzhia
Russia struck Kryvyi Rih and Zaporizhzhia with ballistic missiles overnight on Saturday, October 17, injuring at least two people in Zaporizhzhia, where a residential building was hit, while an industrial enterprise was attacked in Kryvyi Rih. Zaporizhzhia regional governor Mykhailo Semikin reported the injuries and published photos of the aftermath, while Kryvyi Rih defense council head Oleksandr Vilkul said the city faced a combined ballistic and cruise missile attack. Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha confirmed the industrial strike, with casualty information still being clarified. Monitoring channels reported approximately 24 missiles launched at both cities within 20 minutes. The Ukrainian Air Force had warned of incoming missiles, including ballistic ones. The attack follows Friday evening missile strikes on Kharkiv that injured two 13-year-old teenagers, and warehouses caught fire in Zaporizhzhia after the strike.
