Russia hit Ukraine's energy sector 76 times since Trump's ceasefire, Zelensky says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russian forces have attacked Ukraine's energy and oil-and-gas sectors 76 times since US President Donald Trump announced an "energy ceasefire." Zelensky said overnight strikes hit substations in Vinnytska, Zhytomirska, Khmelnitska, and Odeska oblasts, leaving tens of thousands of households without power. He also noted night attacks on residential buildings, including a fatal strike in Zaporizhzhia that killed a 27-year-old woman and an attack in Poltava that killed one person and wounded four others. Russian forces also targeted an industrial enterprise in Manevychi, Volynska oblast, causing a fire at a warehouse and production facilities, with no reported casualties. Zelensky emphasized that the US should recognize Russia's lack of reciprocal steps in response to sanctions relief or agreements, stating Moscow interprets such signals as permission to continue the war.
