Ukraine's Zelenskyy: Starlink limits threaten civilians
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine depends on the Starlink satellite system to shoot down Russian jet drones, and that restrictions on the service therefore threaten civilians. Speaking at a press conference in Brussels on Friday, Zelenskyy stressed Starlink is not used for attacks on Russian territory. He added there are currently no discussions about replacing the system, which follows reports that the US government ordered a slowdown of the military Starshield network. The restrictions reportedly disrupted Ukrainian military operations, and the issue comes amid strained relations between Kyiv and Washington. Zelenskyy also said allied Patriot missile stocks are sufficient for the coming winter.
