Gerasimov reports to Putin on start of massive strikes on Ukraine's energy grid
Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov reported to Vladimir Putin on the "start" of massive strikes against Ukraine's energy infrastructure, according to RIA Novosti. Russia has "forgotten" the energy ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump. The aggressor country threatens new strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities, claiming they are retaliation for Ukrainian attacks on Russian industry and military-industrial enterprises. Gerasimov stated Russian forces will continue striking Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises and strategic bridges. Earlier on October 16, Russia launched morning strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities, causing damage in Kyiv and five regions, including all three thermal power plants in the capital.
