Emergency power outages hit three Kyiv region districts
Emergency power outages were introduced in three districts of Kyiv region: Obukhiv, Fastiv, and Bucha, on October 17, as reported by the regional military administration. The restrictions were implemented by order of Ukrenergo, while other districts use stabilization schedules. Hourly blackout schedules are active across Ukraine on Saturday, with power limits also imposed on industry and business. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia struck over 15 key energy generation and transmission facilities, marking one of the largest attacks on the country's energy system. The most difficult situation is in Lutsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Shepetivka, Slavuta, and Netishyn, with infrastructure damage also reported in Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. A previous attack on October 16 hit an energy facility in Kremenets, and Vinnytsia was left without power after a massive strike.
