No injuries in drone attack on industrial site in Russia's Khanty-Mansi region
A drone attack on an industrial facility in Surgutsky District, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, caused a fire but no injuries, Governor Ruslan Kukharuk reported. Emergency services are working at the scene, and fire containment is ongoing. Drone danger alerts were issued twice in the region, at 09:53 and 13:20 Moscow time, prompting heightened readiness and increased airspace control. Residents were warned of possible mobile service restrictions, and Kogalym airport temporarily limited flight operations. Separately, on October 16, two drones were shot down over Leningrad Oblast, leading to temporary flight restrictions at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo airport. Kukharuk urged calm and advised against spreading unverified information.
