Slovakia opts out of new EU loan for Ukraine

ru.apa.az (Russian) —

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced that Slovakia will not participate in the new EU loan for Ukraine, citing the country's inability to repay debts. Fico stated Slovakia would also skip the upcoming €70 billion military loan for 2027, just as it avoided the previous €90 billion credit. He claimed EU funds for Ukraine total up to €400 billion and largely benefit corruption networks. Fico criticized EU discussions for lacking peace initiatives and insisted the war has no military solution. He reaffirmed his government's rejection of Slovak soldiers' involvement in any military operations.
