Zelenskiy: Russia struck Ukraine's energy sector 76 times in a week
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia launched 76 attacks on Ukraine's energy, oil, and gas infrastructure in the past week, despite U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a halt to strikes on energy facilities. Zelenskiy accused Moscow of deliberately targeting Ukraine's energy sector since Trump announced the purported energy ceasefire, with recent strikes hitting electrical substations in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Odesa. Neither Kyiv nor Moscow has confirmed an agreement to suspend such attacks. The strikes prompted Poland to activate preventive military measures on Sunday, with airports in Lublin and Rzeszow temporarily suspending flight operations to protect national airspace. The situation underscores ongoing risks of escalation for NATO members bordering Ukraine, as no confirmed ceasefire exists.
