Russian forces strike foreign-invested plant in Lutsk and customs terminal in Kovel again
Russian forces on Friday, October 16, struck a foreign-invested enterprise in Lutsk for a second time and hit a customs terminal in Kovel, Volyn region, amid ongoing drone attacks. Acting regional governor Roman Romaniuk reported the strikes, noting a fire at the Kovel terminal involving about 10 trucks with trailers and one injured person. In Manevychi, an attack on an enterprise caused a minor ammonia leak, which was contained, with one death and eight injuries reported. The attacks continue a series of recent drone strikes on Volyn, including an October 15 incident where debris damaged power lines in Lutsk, and an October 14 strike that destroyed a civilian warehouse, killing six people.
