Finland restricts flights over eastern Gulf of Finland

gazeta.ru (Russian) —

Finland has temporarily restricted flights below 20 kilometers in altitude over the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland within its air traffic controllers' zone of responsibility, according to a TASS source. The restriction is expected to last until approximately 09:00 Moscow time, with no reason given. The measure coincides with overnight disruptions at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport, which limited arrivals and departures citing flight safety, and the suspension of all four Moscow airports around 07:00 due to a Ukrainian drone attack, as reported by Rosaviatsia. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported multiple drones destroyed on approach to the city. Earlier that night, a plane bound for St. Petersburg landed in Finland instead. The Finnish restrictions and Russian airport closures appear linked to the same security incident, though Finnish authorities have not confirmed a connection.
