Ukraine faces Starlink limits as Trump pauses Russian sanctions
Ukraine's interceptor systems are unable to operate against Russian drone attacks due to a Starlink speed restriction, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, attributing the limits to the US military and President Donald Trump. Zelenskyy said Ukrainian officials were told the restrictions stemmed from technical issues, though tests in EU territory showed no such problems. The development coincides with a massive Russian strike on over 15 Ukrainian energy sites, involving four cruise missiles and 332 drones. Trump separately signed an executive order pausing a sweeping US sanctions package targeting Russia's economy, a move Zelenskyy called unfortunate. Critics say the pause, which follows Trump's plan to buy Russian diesel, aids Moscow's war effort.
