Putin's plan targets every major Ukrainian city, The Guardian reports
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has ordered his military to render all major Ukrainian cities uninhabitable to force the country's capitulation, according to The Guardian, which obtained a new Russian plan. The plan involves significantly intensifying terror against Ukrainian civilians, with strikes on power plants in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and other cities already underway, causing blackouts and water supply disruptions. Russia continued these attacks despite Donald Trump's unilateral announcement of an "energy ceasefire" last week. The strategy stems from Russia's lack of battlefield success and Ukraine's recent counteroffensive. Moscow has identified vulnerable energy infrastructure points, including substations at nuclear plants, and aims to cut 90% of Kyiv's electricity supply, potentially causing outages up to 20 hours daily.
